I meditate to center my mind on the calmness and peace of Mama Earth. I do this usually by walking up the road to the pond behind the apt. complex where I live. With TD's health so up and down, and the weather so wet, windy and cold now, it has been getting hard for me to get out and find a meditation focal point.
glitter-graphics.comBefore I continue talking about my meditation point, I want to thank all of you for your prayers for my son. He is doing so much better and is still in cardiac rehab 4 days a week.
Ok back to my meditation focal point. I find peace and strength through meditation and was talking to my spiritual adviser, an Elder Native American, who advised me to invite Mama Earth inside. She told me to find what gives me strength and mix it with a silver display and bring a smaller amt. in.
My meditation focal point below.
Stone in a silver bowl, strong and reflective. It works:)
My spiritual adviser smiled when she saw it. She has a large silver bowl with a mirror in the bottom, filled half way with water. She drops small pebble sin it and meditates on the ripples.
She said we must each follow our heart and find our own focal point when we invite Mama Earth inside.
I found mine and it works for me.

This is beautiful, Ruth -- the strength of the rock and the metal is very powerful and must bring you much strength too, through your meditation! I'm so happy that your son is doing well.
Its good to have a focal point outside our own thoughts. :) I love that metal bowl idea, I might try it.
I'm glad your son is doing so much better, Ruth.
I have difficulty meditating. I try, but it's difficult to focus. perhaps I'll try your method.
You get to talk to an Elder Native American? That is so great.
Ruth this is not only beautiful, it is also powerful. Thanks for sharing this. I love it.
I'm glad it works for you. I've tried meditating off and on, but I just feel silly. Maybe I'm lacking the focus, or doing it wrong. Hell, I don't know.
Oh my.. very interesting! I would love to meet this Native American friend of yours.
I usually read my Bible and sit quietly and talk to God this is where I find peace...Usually I have two doggy heads in my lap that is the only time during they day that they are not rough housing or bugging me perhaps this is their quiet time too
I sort of take breaks at Starbucks to calm my nerves. lol Yes, a noisy place works for me.

glad you've found what works for you ... thanks for this post -- i think i'll try meditation -- will seek out a focal point ... take care.
This is beautiful, Ruth. A wonderful meditation point,a great way of bringing mama earth inside. And so happy your son is doing well.
I find meditation to be very mysterious. I focus on my breath and on my body and just try to be quiet.
I think the higher power is greater than mama earth, since he is the one who created her.I had a small, mirror-bottomed fountain that I had originally purchased for my grandmother one Christmas. I inherited it after she passed away and found such magical peace when I found the time to meditate.
Wow, thank you for sharing that, it is so good to learn.
Nice. Thank you for sharing. (((Hugs)))
