We Are Home
TD has another lung infection and with him it is like the domono affect.
The lung infection is just beginning and I could not hear the rattle that was beginning in his chest. I knew with the other medical problems he has that something was up and called Mandy his in home care nurse. Thank God for her. She is a blessing as are his in home care givers.
Lung infection caused lungs to restrict and affected his breathing, which affected the aphasia and bels palsy. This caused the left side of his face to droop and his speach to slur.T he good thing is none of this affected his heart.
His blood sugar is way up and we expected that as when he is sick his blood sugar goes way out of sight. The blood sugar is easily controlled through taking his blood sugar four times a day and measuring the amount of insulin needed.
So he has a PCC Line again and an antibiotic drip. I
It was to late get home last night so we just stayed in the motel next to the hospital and came home this morning.
I told him packing for a trip with him is worse than when I had kids and he just chuckled and grinned at me. I keep an emergency bag, well several bags, in the car for him, in case something like this happens.
When we got home in home care giver got him in the apt, and settled in and I replaced his emergency supply for our next adventure:)
Ali is not speaking to me as she was left home alone last night and is not one bit happy about it. She turned her back on me when I came in and Andy, in home care giver, told me when he came in to feed her this morning she turned her back on him too and she did not eat.
The minute she saw TD she started meowing and calling, and the minute he was sitting down she was on his lap checking him out. She was very indignant when TD was in bed with the IV drip running and in home nurse would not let her in the room til she had TD all settled.
Once he was settled TD called her and she made a leap onto the bed and on his chest to make sure he was alright.
She did allow me to feed her:):) and now she is snuggled up with TD purring.
TY all for your prayers, and as always we so appreciate you all.

So glad to her he is okay, now lets hope for this infection to go away quick! I feel so bad for him having to have an IV, those things are awful but a fuzzy friend makes anything better. Your kitty sounds very cute and affectionate, something that someone who is sick needs :)
TD and Ali are good for each other ~ they both need to be real nice to you though, thanks for keeping us updated!
I'm glad he is doing better, and back home, and that Ali has her friend back with her.
Sorry I missed that he was taken to the hospital. (hugs)
Ali the Angel. I'm wishing the best for you and TD.
glad you're home and he's ok.
blessings,
frank
I'm so glad to hear it wasn't a stroke and that you're back home. I hope he recovers quickly and you two can get back to your lives.
I am so glad you are back and TD has been normalized. I am sure your In home nurse must be such a relief.
Couldn't laughing over what Ali did, showing her displeasure of being left alone. Oh she is a darling. I am sure she would have been worried about TD. Give her a big hug from me.
Since Ali considers herself one of the high-value adults in the family, she can't be blamed for feeling left out.
I am so glad TD got the care he needed. That's good news indeed. Poor Ali.
I think it's always better to heal at home after the first initial hospital visit. Sounds like TD and Ali are happy. I know you're somewhat relieved now too.
I'm relieved you are all safe and home and TD is being attended to by his excellent support network - including Ali! She is one devoted feline!

Keeping you all in my heart and thoughts.
Thank goodness
My mom also gets lung infections often due to a condition she's had all her life. A good round of antibiotics usually puts her right but it can be scary.
Glad to hear ya'll are back home and settled in. Hope TD does well and Ali keeps him under her care !
I'm glad he is home and doing better.

I'm glad all this didn't affected his heart and I'm glad that you're back home with Ali :)
You're always in my prayers and in my heart.
I'm so glad you're both home again -- this feels like a good news post, although I'm sure you're still concerned. TD sure has a good friend in Ali!
Ahhh Ruth, I read both the posts, and marvel at your patience and compassion. I hope TD will get over this new ailment soon, and is able to remember and talk very well. I am glad you are home now. You will be in my heart and prayers. Blessings and hugs.
